Rearing livestock on oil palm and coconut palm plantations can maximise land use, increase productivity and reduce the need for costly labour-intensive weed control. COCONUT OR OIL palm are perfectly able to 'stand alone' and make a profit as tree crop monocultures, but integration of livestock such as cattle, buffalo and sheep is proven to enhance profitability.
