The Darwin SatCom Lab has become the UK's first commercial laboratory to test driverless cars. The Darwin SatCom Lab, supported by the European Space Agency (ESA) and telecom provider O2, will leverage both 5G and satellite communications. The lab is based at the Harwell Science and Innovation Campus in Oxfordshire, which is also home to the ESA Centre for Space Applications and Telecommunications. The Darwin SatCom Lab will allow companies to put self-driving car theories into practice and test their ideas using connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs).
