On 31 May 2015, the option for companies to self-declare operative competence on a staff company register will cease. From the 1 June 2015, FENSA inspectors will be checking that at least one MTC compliant installer per fitting team, and all surveyors, are MTC compliant for the scope of work they undertake. This can be demonstrated by either having an industry recognised competency card (e.g. FENSA MTC card) or a relevant fenestration NVQ qualification. Companies are still required to maintain a register of approved surveyors and installers that must be made available to FENSA.
