Greenhouse grower heads industry committee reviewing emerging technologies. Last year, Nova Scotia greenhouse operator Chris Brown Jr. burned 170,000 litres of fuel oil in his cutting and plug production area. "It got scary this year," commented Brown, "as oil prices increased." He told the annual meeting of Greenhouse Nova Scotia that "the problem with fuel oil right now is it might be 20 per cent more next year."
