California citrus research board report

Many farm commodity groups around the country are searching for ways to improve varieties and make farming a more profitable and efficient operation. They are turning to research and in many cases, to genetics. The citrus industry is no different. Ted Back in, president of the Citrus Research Board (CRB) says, "a lot of the future in citrus research will revolve around utilizing new genetic tools and techniques." It is the responsibility of the CRB to sort out where the investment of the research dollar will provide the greatest return to the citrus grower.
