Greenhouse veg growers among B.C. OYF nominees

The incredible diversity of British Columbia agriculture is reflected by this year's finalists for the province's Outstanding Young Farmer award. Included are two greenhouse vegetable growers, an egg producer, an organic fruit and vegetable grower, and a sod farmer. The prestigious award will be presented during the fifth annual Agricultural Industry Gala on Feb. 16 at the Langley Banquet Centre in Aldergrove. "Five is our largest ever number of finalists," said B.C. OYF nominations chair Dave Dieleman. "We felt it was important for so many to go forward, both because they provide a sampling of the diverse agricultural opportunities available in the province, and because the interaction and feedback the applicants receive during the judging processcontributes so much to their future success.
