Quebec's greenhouse producers' union had a busy year in 2001. The Syndicat des producteurs en serre du Quebec (SPSQ) has been defending the interests of its members, arranging group purchases, supplying industry info, and co-ordinating promotional activities. Last year, the organization has closed the book on one fight to compensate members for increased heating costs, and launched a new effort to organize tomato growers.
