The 150 participants in this year's spring meeting of Roses Inc gathered to learn more about their industry And for four days, central southwestern Ontario became their classroom. The Days of Wine and Roses convention was hosted at Niagara-on-the-Lake, attracting growers from as far away as California, Alberta, Colorado and Mexico. Attendance was up this year, and organizers know why. "The rose growing industry in Canada is undergoing some exciting changes," said John Newland of New-land's Flowers Limited of Leamington, Ont, "from new growing techniques and different growing media, to the new varieties our plant producers have brought to the event."
