Federal government reforms pesticide regulatory system

Responsibility and resources for pesticide regulation will be consolidated in an agency within the federal department of health this spring as the first step in a major reform of the pesticide regulatory system. New legislation, policies and programswill round out the reforms. The reforms will fulfil a campaign commitment to implement the recommendations of the 1990 multi-stakeholder Pesticide Registration Review (PRR) as the basis for improving the pesticide regulatory system.
