Lower light levels in Ontario in '96

Growers would agree with the impression that we had lower light levels for the winter of '96 than in '95. Two crops that were particularly affected were cut roses and geraniums. For Valentine's in particular, rose growers generally had less production, more blind snoots and were a little late. Most geranium stock plant/cutting producers were off significantly with the number of cuttings also due to lower light levels.
