Ritmo Tarim was founded in 1988 by two partners. The production area is in Alanya, around 1 00 kilometres east of Antalya. The region enjoys mild winters and dry hot summers. Once carnations lost their importance, Emin Unver, who has been managing thecompany alone since 1988, was quick to make use of his excellent connections with a well-known European grass specialist with an excellent range of grasses. He began cultivating grasses with the support of his mentor who provided first class know-how. Today Ritmo Tarim cultivates more than 150 grass varieties and species and has an area of 4 hectares under glass, and eight hectares under open air cultivation, and produces a total of two million young grass plants. The grasses are mainly in glass houses. In the main season from 1st April through to mid June, 180 people are employed. They work 7 days a week during this period. Many have been with the company for 10 years and are highly experienced.
