A valve-regulated lead-acid battery "GSTR35" harmonized with high performance, light weight, and econonmical cost has been newly developed to meet the needs from the market of electric wheelchairs in the field of small-sized electric traction. Main technology to this battery are summarized as follows. 1) The application of paste with super high density for positive plate. 2) The newly developed separator with higher elasticity. 3) The appropriate amount of absorbed electrolyte in plates and separators. 4) The application of existing container, cover, and negative plate for the mass production of automotive battery from the economical point of view.
