Florida investigators break up fertilizes- theft ring at Kinder Morgan facility; no AIM Deft facility in sting

Four employees-three of them identified as managers or supervisors-of a Kinder Morgan storage warehouse at Port of Tampa were arrested earlier this month as being part of a fertilizer theft ring that stole fertilizer and delivered it at cut-rate prices to agricultural customers. The defendants bailed out of jail shortly after their arrest."We initially thought we caught it right when it started," Hillsborough County Sheriff's Capt. Steve Launikitis said of the undercover operation, which faked the theft of 125,000 pounds of fertilizer worth more than $20,000. "But it may have been going on for up to 10 months to a year."
