Just because you're a little guy doesn't mean you can't play with the big kids. For Catoctin Mountain Growers in Detour, Md., that is good news. This small-to-medium grower is a wholesale supplier to some big-box stores in Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey.The relationship with these stores has been a very good one. "Even though we're a smaller to mid-size greenhouse, we feel like we can react quickly to the demands of our customers. If they want something, we're pretty willing to go ahead and make it happen," says general manager Henry Thorpe.
