GENOMICS grants: WSU scientists awarded national funding for tree fruit genomics research

Two Washington State University scientists have been awarded major grants from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Research Initiative to fund projects relating to the genomics of tree fruits. Dr. Armt Dnmgra, molecular biologist, requested375,000 dollar to further his work in sequencing the apple genome in collaboration with an international consortium involving scientists in South Africa, Italy, New Zealand, and France.
