Experimental gypsum flats for India

India: An experimental low-cost two story complex of flats has been built in India using glass-fibre-reinforced gypsum panels instead of bricks. Researchers from the civil engineering department of the Indian Institute ofTechnology Madras (IIT-M) say that they have developed the building, which has four 500ft~2 flats, at very low cost, around US$1000/flat.
