Change. Steve Zediker, a tree fruit and juice grape grower at Sun-nyside, Washington, has been doing a lot of thinking about that lately. By the time Zediker, incoming president of the Washington State Horticultural Association, completes his term next December, the association might not exist in its current form. A proposal to merge the Hort Association and three other Washington tree fruit industry organizations will be put to growers in the coming weeks and could go into effect as soon as next September. Zediker said it s all part or developing a stronger base for the Washington State fruit industry.
