US: Many US home-owners and former home-owners who are part of groups that have been awarded damages in the 'tainted' Chinese wallboard saga in the United States say that media coverage of the awards has led many to believe that they have received payment to renovate their affected homes. However, in many cases, in particular the US$1 bn settlement reached in a lawsuit between about 10,000 affected homeowners and Knauf Tianjin along with suppliers, insurance companies and home builders, this is not the case. According to local media only 2900 homes have been renovated so far of the 10,000 affected.
