West African-focused gold explorer Castle Minerals Ltd is ramping up its exploration drilling programmes in Ghana. Managing director Mike Ivey told Gold Mining Journal RC drilling had started on the 183sq km Sapelliga project late in February. "This will be our sixth drilling campaign in Ghana since listing (in May 2006) and we've spent about 2 million dollars so far," he said. The project area is 2.5km west of Etruscan Resources Ltd's 580,000oz Youga gold deposit.
