Iveco Touts Bi-Fuel, Ethanol-Diesel Truck for Brazil

Truck maker Iveco announced earlier this month that it will begin testing a bi-fuel ethanol/diesel truck in Brazil, where cane-based ethanol is relatively abundant and cheaper to produce than almost anywhere on the planet. Teaming-up with Fiat Power Train Industrial (FPT) and Bosch, Iveco said the new "Trakker" truck features two separate fuel tanks and two separate fuel injection systems for ethanol and diesel, rather than blending the two fuels into the same tank for later injection as a blended fuel.
