The gold is starting to roll in from Ram-elius Resources Ltd's Wattle Dam mine just outside Kambalda as a cutback to the open pit nears completion. The refurbished Burbanks gold plant has been processing low-grade ore since July and is primed for higher grade ore - starting at about 10 g/t gold and heading upwards - coming into the mix any time now. Completion of the cutback was three-quarters finished by the end of September. That means a portal to begin an underground decline should be opened before Christmas, which in turn provides for the extraction of Wattle Dam's main prize - ore grading in excess of 20 g/t from just 40m below the base of the open pit.
