This paper describes an outline of the education for a safer driving behavior obtained with the cognitive motivation procedure and the effect of decreasing the number of accidents on a road after the drivers took this education program. This program contains three steps; a risk perception test, a small-group discussion, and counseling. It has been shown that the above teaching is effective in decreasing the number of traffic accident and responsibility of one's caused accident, and that the effectiveness remains over three months thereafter. The author is convinced that this education program contributes effectively toward preventing accidents on a road.
