Wartsila Wins U.S. EPA Emissions Certification for Dual-Fuel Marine Engines

Wartsila announced April 12 that it won emissions certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for its “34DF” dual-fuel (dieselatural gas) marine engines. The EPA certification “will enable Wartsila to strongly enter the [U.S.] market with marine-engine technology that offers operators and owners the option of using either diesel or [natural] gas as fuel,” according to the company.
