REG Reports Increased Profits, Production in 2Q 2012

Ames, Iowa-based biodiesel producer and marketer Renewable Energy Group Inc. posted increased profit and production in its second-quarter (2Q) financial results compared with 2Q 2011. Revenues for the 2Q stood at US$271.9 million – an increase of 39% versus revenues for the same period in 2011 – and 2Q earnings of $26.5 million, up 3%, according to REG’s financial statement. The company attributed an increase in gallons sold over the previous period, which was offset somewhat by lower per-gallon prices.
