Kia to Launch ‘Soul’ EV Sales in Second-Half 2014

Korea-based automaker Kia announced November 12 that it will launch sales of its “Soul” electric vehicle (EV) in international markets in second-half 2014. The EV will offer “class-leading range of more than 200 kilometers” between battery recharges, while the 81.4- kilowatt electric motor will produce 285 Newton-meters of torque “for fun-to-drive motoring,” according to Kia. Top speed is rated at 145 kilometers per hour (90 miles per hour).
