Crude Futures Plummet US$9.44/bbl on Commodities Rout

NYMEX light sweet crude for June delivery settled at US$99.80 per barrel (/bbl), down $9.44 on May 5, as a result of a massive round of length liquidation across various commodities. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for June sank 8.6% -the first time since mid-March that oil closed below $100/bbl and the biggest one-day decline in two years. Crude prices are still 25% higher than a year ago.
