Maersk Net Profit Jumps 20% Year-on Year

Denmark-based global shipping giant M?rsk Group announced February 22 that its 2012 net profit jumped 20% year-over-year to US$4.04 billion. Commenting on the results, M?rsk Group CEO Nils Andersen said that profit in 2012 was “positively affected by the settlement of an Algerian tax dispute in Q1 [firstquarter 2012] of $899 million, combined with improved volumes, rates and unit costs for M?rsk Line.
