U.S. Crude Stocks Rise; Products See Drawdowns

U.S. commercial crude stockpiles increased by 4 million barrels – surpassing analyst forecasts – and refined product inventories showed sizeable declines, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) report in the week ended April 20. Domestic crude inventories rose to 369 million barrels – fattening the five-week build to 26.8 million barrels and marking the largest three-week increase since January 2009, the EIA said. Analysts had projected a smaller 2.7 millionbarrel build, on average.
