Oil Futures Fall US$1.53/bbl on High Crude Inventories

NYMEX light, sweet crude for May delivery finished at US$102.67 per barrel (/bbl), down $1.53 on April 18, in response to the weekly supply statistics from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) showing a much greater-than-forecast build in crude stocks. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) lost 1.5% versus the previous day’s close. The May contract expires April 20.
