Dong, Centrica Ink JV for Irish Sea Wind Farm; 4.2-GW Potential

Denmark-based Dong Energy announced March 21 that it formed a joint venture with United Kingdom-based Centrica to develop offshore wind farms in the Irish Sea, with a potential capacity of 4.2 gigawatts (GW). Under the deal, Dong Energy will pay Centrica up to ￡40 million (US$63.5 million) in cash for a 50% interest in the joint venture.
