Covanta Energy Unveils First Commercial Gasification-WTE System

Covanta Energy on April 24 unveiled its first commercialscale gasification-waste-to-energy (WTE) system, initially aiming to compete for smaller-scale WTE markets with a modular, 300 ton-per-day (t/d) “CleerGas” system. Covanta vice president for business development Steve Weber told Gasification News in an interview that the company has been developing the system in-house for about five years.
