Boston-based First Wind announced May 10 the start-up of power production from its 102-megawatt (MW) "Milford Wind Corridor Phase 2" project in Utah, supplying "green" power to southern California. The project features 68 GE turbines of 1.5 MW each, just north of the existing, 204-MW Milford Wind Corridor Phase I project. At 306 MW, the combined output of Milford I and II has the capacity to generate enough energy to power up to 64,000 residences.
