U.S. EPA Offers Grants for Replacing Old, Dirty Marine-Diesel Engines

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced November 20 that it’s awarding US$556,000 in grants to clean up diesel emissions on two vessels operating from Port of Boston. One grant of $300,000 goes to CLF Ventures to repower the Spirit of Boston, replacing four old, unregulated diesel engines with cleaner EPA Tier-3 certified marinediesel engines.
