Horsehead, Shell Extend Option on Pennsylvania Site

Horsehead Holding Corp. announced December 26 that its subsidiary, Horsehead Corp., and Shell signed “an amended and restationed option and purchase agreement” on the Horsehead facility in Monaco, Pa. Shell had until December 31 on its current agreement extension to make a decision on whether to purchase the site. The latest extension agreement allows Shell to continue its evaluation of the Monaca site, located about 40 kilometers (24 miles) northwest of Pittsburgh.
