The U.S. Internal Revenue Service (IRS) published a notice in the July 9 Federal Register seeking public comment on proposed changes in the collection of data on excise tax credits and payments for alternative-fuel and renewable-fuel mixtures. The potential changes – known as REG-155087-05 – cover tax credits and payments for alcohol mixtures (E85), biodiesel mixtures, renewable-diesel mixtures, alternativefuel mixtures and alternative fuel sold for use as fuel, as well as definitions of gasoline and diesel fuel.
