Sinopec Opens LNG-Fueling Stations for Buses in Beijing

Sinopec has started up its first liquefied natural-gas (LNG) refueling stations for buses in Beijing, according to an October 11 China Securities Journal report. Earlier this year, Sinopec inked a deal with the Beijing municipal government for the LNG buses, according to the report. Separately, PetroChina also signed a similar deal for Beijing, including 100 LNG buses and an LNG-refueling station, according to the report. While LNG fuel is about 10% to 30% cheaper than diesel, LNG buses are more expensive initially.
