摘要

An Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) proposal to lower the permissible exposure limit (PEL) for worker exposure to hexavalent chromium would cost manufacturers nearly 2.9 billion dollars per year in compliance costs, according to an economist who testified on behalf of industry groups at a recent Government Reform subcommittee hearing, the Environment Energy Daily reports. The comments came at a hearing to examine the progress of the Labor and Transportation departments in responding to several regulatory reform directives put forth by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) earlier this year, according to the published report.
