摘要

The development of new automotive engines with its targets on reduced emissions, lower weight and higher power output creates new challenges for the development of new casting alloys and improved casting technologies. With respect to this, in the focus of new developments there are mainly increased wear resistance of the cylinder bores, alloys with high tensile and fatigue strengths at elevated temperatures up to 250 ℃ and improved casting processes to achieve an optimized as-cast structure.
