Metconazole - a new fungicide to control leaf- and ear diseases in cereals and oilseed rape.

A new fungicide is about to be launched, based on the triazole compound metconazole, for controlling leaf- and ear diseases in cereals and oilseed rape. Metconazole is very active against ear fusarioses, Rhynchosporium, Septoria species and rust species. The Fusarium toxin deoxynivalenol (DON) [vomitoxin] can be reduced by 50-70%. In oilseed rape, metconazole controls the most important fungus diseases. In addition, the product shows strong plant growth regulatory effects. This will increase resistance to lodging and protect against winter damage.
