Glass Transition and Polymorphism

摘要

A correlation between the glass formation and the number of polymorphic modifications is revealed and analyzed using the example of chalcogenide and other vitreous systems.The role played by polymorphic modifications in the formation of glass formation regions in particular systems is demonstrated with due regard for the thermodynamic criterion for glass-forming ability of melts.
