Guardian Industries said on 11 February 2005 that it is fully immersed in the extension of the building which will house two new windscreen lines at its plant at Llodio, north east Spain. The EUR 12 million project was announced by the group on 21 June 2004 during the visit by Spanish King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia to the Llodio plant, on the 20~(th) anniversary of Guardian's presence in Spain. Guardian says that it will "continue modernizing and extending its facilities at Llodio" and "is committed to higher tech nology products". As well as making windscreens, the Llodio plant has a float glass furnace, a furnace for patterned glass, a mirror line and a line for anti-reflective glass for picture framing.
