This volume was published in parallel with the exhibition, of the same title, held at The Richard H. Driehaus Museum, in Chicago, from February 2015 to January 2016. The significant exhibition displayed over 250 pieces of individualistic jewellery from the Driehaus Museum and from several other galleries and private collectors. Enamels feature in many of these pieces. Enamels add the central elements for some of the pendants with figural or floral themes. For opulent jewellery enamels add colourful, harmonising or plique-a-jour enrichments for the gold and silver forms and the mounts for gemstones.
