On the Melting Temperature of Nanoparticles

摘要

A theoretical explanation is offered for the possibility of melting a nanoparticle at a higher temperature as compared to the melting temperature of a macroscopic sample of the same chemical composition.The special attention is focused on the analogy between the temperature range DELTA T_m of melting of nanoparticles and the softening range for glasses.
