In the late 1960s, I developed an interest in coins in general. For sometime before this, if I was given a coin which was not of the present issue, and it looked in good condition, I would put it aside, in a box, and from this start my collection, or should I say assembly of coins, started to accumulate. One day a friend of mine, Mr. Derek Bowler, came to my home in Ease Molesey. We both had an interest in wines, and we were busy tasting our wines when for for some reason coins came into the conversation I mentioned that I has a number of old coins, and he asked to see them. I took the box over to the table and literally poured them out!! He was quite a while coming around from the shock. "What are you doing? You don't treat coins like that."
