Various glass samples were prepared in the system [(Pb_xSr_(1-x))O · TiO2]—[2SiO2 · B2O3]—[K2O]— [BaO]—[Nb2O5] (0.5≤x ≤ 1) by melt quench method. Donor dopant Nb2O5 has been found to play an important role in the crystallization of the parent glasses. X-ray diffraction studies indicated that perovskite lead titanate (PT) or perovskite (Pb, Sr)TiO3 (PST) crystallize as a major phase followed by secondary phases of PbTi3O7, PbB2O4 and TiO2 (Rutile). Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) shows the uniform and well-interconnected morphology of the crystallites. Energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX) confirms the formation of perovskite PT/PST solid solution as major phase.
