The future of 480 Waterford Crystal manufacturing jobs remains in doubt, despite the deal on 27 February 2009 to sell Waterford Wedgwood to US firm KPS Capital. However, KPS has not agreed to buy the crystal manufacturing plant at Kilbarry, Waterford, where production ceased late January 2009 with the loss of 480 jobs.
