Manufacturers want their distributors to cre-ate a market for their product too. This meansfinding new customers and explaining to themhow they could gain benefit from using its prod-ucts rather than someone else's. When it comesto component distribution, that means talkingto designers and getting them to build theirproduct around your component. The designerhas to think not just about what the componentdoes, but how easily it can be supplied into itsown manufacturing facilities, together with aguarantee of supply for the design life of whatthey are making.
