With reference to the feature article by Kent Brooks concerning the new geological map of East Greenland (Geology Today, 2008, v.24), though the new map extends from 70 deg and 82 deg N, it might have been pertinent to mention the groundbreaking, pre-WW2 research by L.R. Wager and his colleagues on the Skaergaard igneous complex only a little farther south. Also of interest, there is a popular account of the British North Greenland Expedition 1952-54, including geology, in Venture to the Arctic (edited by R.A. Hamilton, Penguin Books, 1958). Fair enough, you can't cover everything, although I do refer Douglas Peacock to my previous article in Geology Today (2005, v.21, n.6) on Skaergaard in which Wager and Deer's ground-breaking work is indeed referred to. The British expedition to Dronning Louise Land was also mentioned (on p.31, left-hand column), a magnificent effort with many interesting results (though perhaps not really of regional significance).
