Formation of combined modes during the ionospheric radiowave propagation

The formation of a mode with a group delay localized between the basic 1F2 and 2F2 modes has been analyzed. It has been indicated that the mode structure can only partly be explained by the combined 1E + 1F2 transmission mode in the global model of the ionosphere.
