The technique for dividing the geomagnetic fields measured on the CHAMP satellite into parts caused by different physical sources has been developed. The technique is based on the complex of up-to-date mathematical methods. Spherical harmonic analysis is used to detect the main magnetic field from the measured values; decomposition of difference fields into natural orthogonal components, to find and eliminate anomalous field values; and direct and inverse wavelet transform, to separate the difference field into the external and anomalous fields and noise. The numerical values of the correlation coefficients and functional are presented in order to separate signal from noise. The map of the anomalous magnetic field for the territory of the Kursk magnetic anomaly (KMA) has been constructed using the new approach to processing satellite measurements. This map has been compared with a similar map constructed using the MAGSAT satellite data.
